Changes

I thought I would write a post, since I haven't written anything since Christmas.

My life lately has been nothing other than preparing lessons, teaching, doing after school tutoring, grading papers and tests, meetings, training for a half-marathon that I will be doing with the ladies in my family in Montana in July, and eating healthy. Since I decided at the beginning of this year that I was going to start running again, I decided I was going to get myself healthy again. For the past month, I have exercised almost every day and have pretty much cut out sweets. Now anyone that knows me well, knows that I love my sweets. I'm determined to win the battle and have started to make healthier choices. I'm feeling better physically and mentally. I have come to understand that making changes isn't always easy, but it is totally worth it.

One of my favorite past times is reading. I found myself last year never having any time to read. I made a goal this year to read one book once a month. The first book I finished reading in January is called "The Wednesday Letters" by Jason F. Wright. It was a wonderful book about forgiveness. This weekend, I started reading "Percy Jackson and the Olympians- Sea of Monsters." This is the second book in the series and so far it is gripping and addicting.

I have to say that life in 2011 is treating me well, despite the stress my job has brought to me this past month. I'm bringing back the things in my life that I've missed and love. I have found that these simple things are making me happier each day.
