Camping over the 4th of July

On July 3rd, we went camping at Falls Campground with our cousins Heidi and Alan and their friends Amy and Sean. It was the first time Richard and I put our tent and sleeping bags to use. The tent didn't collapse and the sleeping bags kept us warm. We survived our first night using them.

Setting up Camp

After setting up camp, we went to Driggs, Idaho for the Balloon Rally. It was really windy, so they just had one hot air balloon sideways were you could go walk in- it was cool to walk inside a hot air balloon. We then went and had dinner at The Royal Wolf where we waited forever for our food, but in the end it was yummy.

Camp in the Morning

Amy made scrumptious breakfast burritos for everyone. It was nice to sit and chill while enjoying all the nature around us.

Richard: The fire master. He always starts the fires and keeps them going

After eating breakfast, we cleaned up camp and went and hike around the area. We got to see an eagle's nest. There were some babies that you could hear in the nest and if you looked really hard, a little head peeked up once or twice (it was so hard to see). It was so cool to see an eagle's nest. We then went and hike to the falls which the campground is named after.
It was beautiful!

After that, we left to head back home. We stopped on the side of the road to have lunch. I made walking tacos. You take frito chips, crunch them and then put taco ingredients in the bag with the chips. It was delicious!Overall, we had a great time! We look forward to many more camping trips.

That night, everyone gathered in Idaho Falls for the firework show. It's a great show, where you can listen to music on the radio that goes with. We all really enjoyed that. Then, everyone came over to our house to watch Richard light off the fountain fireworks he bought and light off some sparklers as well. Richard was excited to buy his first fireworks and even more excited to light them all off. What a wonderful 4th of July we had. We are so blessed to live in this country and for the freedom which we have. We are so thankful for everyone who has fought and continues to fight for our freedom. Happy Independence Day!
